Essential Encouragement – by Courtney ‘Court’ Dignam

My business idea is called Essential Encouragement. Essential Encouragement includes supplying notes of encouragement to essential workers. The idea is to have the community engage in encouraging our essential workers in this time.

Essential Encouragement is a three part process which includes the following parts:

Part 1: I start off by contacting a Human Resource Manager of a company that employs essential workers and asking them if I may send them notes of encouragement for their employees.

Part 2: Then after getting approval from the Human Resources Manager, I work with the community to prepare a large number of encouraging notes to deliver to the company. I plan to digitally make the cards so that I can reuse templates (as needed). Then, I print and mail the blank cards to community members for them to then color and write encouraging notes on the cards. In the package of blank cards, I plan to include a self-addressed envelope and the shipping cost so that community members can return the finished, colored-in cards back to me in the mail.

Part 3: At the end of the month, I will collect all the colored-in cards and ensure they all contain a note of encouragement. Then I will package them up and deliver them to the Human Resources Manager to disperse the cards of encouragement to their employees, the essential workers.
